No wiring needed; battery-operated. Push the turn on button in the back of the device; place it under the door. The gap between the bottom of the door and the floor should be 10mm (0.38 in) to 35mm (1.35 in), it cannot slide on tile or smooth hardwood door when door opens.

I wanted to test this door stopper out before traveling to make sure it works. I put the batteries in, turned the sound switch on, and put the stopper under my bedroom door and tried to open it. It works flawlessly; as soon as the door starts to open it pushes down on the door stopper, causing the alarm to sound immediately. Additionally, you literally cannot get the door open so this is an added bonus. I am putting this in my suitcase and leaving it there! This is a new travel must have, especially for women who like to travel alone like myself.

When the door stop alarm sound gradually becomes softer, it means to replace the battery with a new one.
Does this work on ceramic tiled floors or does it slide?
The Portable Anti-Theft Security Door Step Alarm works great on ceramic tiled floors and does not slide at all. The door step alarm has a textured rubber pad on the bottom which does a lot to help it not slip.
Does the Alarm work multiple times?
Yes, once you disable the alarm sound, you may turn it on and use it again and again for a long time.
